In the first ten months of 2023, the country’s car production surged by 12.1% compared to the same period last year, reaching an impressive 281,400 units. This upward trajectory continued in October, with the market welcoming 56,301 new vehicles.

Several prominent brands, including Ford, Honda, Hyundai, Toyota, and Vinfast, have invested heavily in the country, setting up assembly plants and production lines. In addition to meeting domestic demand, Vietnam has also emerged as a key exporter of automobiles. In 2022, the country exported over 300,000 vehicles, primarily to Southeast Asian markets. The strong export performance has been a testament to the competitiveness of Vietnamese-made cars, which offer a balance of quality, affordability, and fuel efficiency.

The government of Vietnam has played a crucial role in fostering the growth of the automotive industry.
