Is 200k considered high mileage?
Okay, so, is 200k a lot of miles on a car? Honestly, yeah, I kinda think so!
Like, generally speaking, when you hit 200,000 miles, people start saying your car has "high mileage." I mean, I'd say anything from 150,000 to 200,000 is getting up there, wouldn't you? Though, it REALLY depends on the car and how well you've taken care of it, doesn't it? My dad had this old pickup, a real beast, and he swore it was gonna hit 300k! He babied that thing, changed the oil religiously, the whole nine yards. I guess that's why some vehicles just keep going and going.
Now, I remember when my Honda hit 120,000. I thought, "Oh man, is this the beginning of the end?" But honestly, it kept chugging along for another few years! Anything between 100,000 and 150,000, I'd call that more like...moderate mileage. But still, you gotta look at the whole picture, you know? How's the engine sound? Has it been serviced regularly? Things like that REALLY matter when you're trying to figure out if a car's still got some life left in it, even with those miles on the clock!
