What are the top 10 most popular pets?

Okay, so, most popular pets, huh? I always wonder about stuff like this. Like, who's counting all these animals?! Anyway, here's what I found about the most popular pets in the US. It seems pretty accurate to me, you know?

• Dogs: No surprise there, right? Everyone loves dogs! My aunt has this adorable golden retriever, Cooper, who's basically a giant teddy bear.
• Cats: Of course, cats are up there too. Independent little creatures. My friend's cat, Mittens, pretty much rules their entire apartment. It's hilarious!
• Fish: Freshwater fish. Makes sense. They're relatively low-maintenance, I guess. I had a goldfish once… lasted about a week. Oops. Not my forte.
• Small Animals: Like hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs... Those little furry guys. They're cute, but... so much cleaning! My cousin had a rabbit that used to hop all over the place. Chaos.
• Birds: Chirp chirp! I know people who are really into birds. Parrots especially. They can be such characters. My neighbor has a cockatoo that can say, "Hello there!" It's kind of creepy, actually.
• Reptiles: Snakes, lizards, turtles... Not really my thing, but I get it. They're pretty cool in their own way, I suppose. I remember seeing a giant iguana once at a zoo. Whoa.
• Horses: Horses! Now we're talking. I've always wanted to ride a horse. Maybe someday...
