What is the full explanation of transportation?

Okay, so, "transportation," right? What is it, really? I mean, we all know what it is, we do it every day, but how do you actually explain it?

It's basically just moving stuff. People, mostly, but also like, groceries, packages, your cat to the vet... you name it! And it's moving it somewhere, from point A to point B. Could be across town, could be across the world. Think about it — you driving to work, ordering something online and having it magically appear on your doorstep, that weird time I flew to see my friend in Iceland (seriously, such a long flight!). It's all transportation.

And there are so many ways to do it! You've got your obvious ones:

• Air: Planes, duh. Ever been on a tiny propeller plane? Talk about a bumpy ride!
• Land: Cars, trains, buses... even bikes and scooters! I remember biking to school every day as a kid, rain or shine. (Okay, mostly shine.)
• Sea: Ships, ferries, you know. Cruise ships are basically floating cities, it's insane!

But then there's the stuff you might not think about as much, like:

• Cable: Cable cars, gondolas, those ski lifts... those things freak me out a little, not gonna lie.
• Pipeline: This is how they move stuff like oil and gas. Not exactly something you see every day, but super important.
• Space: Rockets! I mean, how cool is that? Sending stuff (and people!) into space! Still blows my mind.

The way you move something really just depends on what it is and how far you gotta take it. Like, you wouldn't ship a letter by boat, right? And you probably wouldn't take a rocket to the grocery store. (Although, sometimes I wish I could!) It's all about finding the best way to get something from here to there. And that, my friend, is transportation in a nutshell.
