Saigon, hands down. For food, it’s unbeatable.
I went to Hanoi in May ’23, spent a week, pho was good, but Saigon’s pho is… richer somehow.
Saigon has everything. And it’s often better than the “original.” I had banh xeo in Da Nang (July ’22) – Saigon’s crispier. Paid like 200,000 VND there. Saigon, maybe 80,000 VND, double the size.
No other city comes close. My friend, we ate bun cha in Hanoi (May ’23), crowded, smoky. Saigon’s version? Cleaner, tastier.
Trust me, I’ve been around Vietnam. Saigon wins the food fight.
