What happens if you skip a day of eating?
Okay, so skipping a whole day of eating? Seriously, don't. I've tried it. More than once, actually. Ugh, talk about a mess. One time, I thought, "Hey, I'll just fast for a day, super cleanse, right?" Wrong. So wrong. By like, 4 pm, I was ready to gnaw on my own arm. Anything sounded good. I ended up inhaling a whole bag of chips, a couple of cookies (okay, maybe more than a couple...), and then half a pizza. Like, who does that?! Me, apparently, when I skip meals. It’s like my body goes into starvation mode and then rebels. I swear, I could feel my metabolism just… slowing… down. Like a snail. A very hungry snail.
Then the guilt hits. And the sluggishness. I mean, what was the point? I ended up eating way more calories than I would have if I'd just eaten normally throughout the day. I read somewhere that skipping meals can mess with your blood sugar, too, making you even hungrier. Don’t know the science behind it all, but honestly, who cares? The experience itself is enough evidence for me. It's just not worth it. Short-term pain? Yeah, maybe a little hunger. Long-term pain? Feeling like a bloated, overstuffed, guilt-ridden mess. No thanks. Just eat, people! Eat regular meals! Your future self will thank you.
