Which city has highest rate of air pollution?
Which city has the worst air pollution? Top polluted cities?
Okay, so like, which city really has the absolute worst air? Ugh, it's depressing even thinkin' about it.
Top Polluted Cities:
- Guwahati, India: 105.4
- Delhi, India: 102.1
See, I've been to Delhi (maybe aobut March 2018?) and whoa, the air was thick, you know? Like you could almost taste it.
Honestly though, figures don't always tell the entire story. I remember reading a thing sometime back (can't remembere exactly), some smaller towns get totally overlooked in these measurements but the air is awful.
Like, remember that time in, oh, I dunno, maybe it was Mumbai where it rained a thick, black liquid and stained the clothes put out to dry? Crazy stuff, but it probably didn't effect the daily overall pollution rates...
What is the 1 most polluted cities in the world?
It's late. Dhaka... yeah, Dhaka, Bangladesh, is, like, always first, isn't it? Always the worst. I remember seeing that in 2023, too. It doesn't change.
Karachi's always up there, too. Karachi, Pakistan, second. Feels heavy, that much pollution. You cough just thinking about it.
Kampala... Kampala, Uganda, number three. Didn't expect that. That’s... bad. A bit shocking actually.
Kathmandu... Kathmandu, Nepal, fourth. I saw Everest once from the plane. Beautiful, but what’s happening down there…
- Dhaka, Bangladesh: Consistently ranks high in pollution indexes, likely due to industrial emissions, traffic congestion, and waste management issues. My cousin Shumon lives there. He says the air tastes like metal.
- Karachi, Pakistan: Another major industrial hub with similar problems as Dhaka, compounded by rapid population growth. I visited in 2012 and even then it was noticeable.
- Kampala, Uganda: Pollution sources might include vehicle emissions, burning of waste, and industrial activity. This is surprising, I thought it would be cleaner.
- Kathmandu, Nepal: Geography probably plays a role; the valley traps pollutants. Tourism there seems…wrong, now. I always wanted to go.
It’s just...heavy to think about. Real people, real lives, breathing that in. Every day. Just... ugh.
