Is it better for your heart to sleep on the left or right side?
Okay, so I've been wondering about this sleep position thing for ages... Is sleeping on my left side actually bad for my heart? You know, I swear I read somewhere that it puts extra pressure on it or something. Sounds scary, right?
But honestly, the more I've dug into it, the more it seems like it's just one of those myths that won't die. I mean, think about it – your heart's pretty well protected in there! From what I've read, and I've been doing a lot of reading on this, there's really no solid scientific evidence to suggest that your sleep position is going to be the thing that suddenly triggers a heart attack. Thank goodness for that, eh?
It's still kinda weirds me out a bit, though. Maybe it's just a comfort thing, you know? I might experiment a little, see if I feel different sleeping on one side versus the other. I remember one time, I tried sleeping on my back all night, and my back was killing me!
But, ultimately, I think getting enough sleep, period, is way more important than stressing about whether I'm facing left or right. Right? Because we all know how awful we feel when we're sleep-deprived! Getting those precious Zzz's is my focus. So good night, and sweet dreams!
