How high will interest rates be in 2026?

Okay, so you wanna know where interest rates are headed in 2026, huh? It's like asking me to predict the future, which, let's be honest, nobody can really do! But hey, I did see some forecasts, and they give us a little something to chew on.

I saw one from February 25th, 2025, and it was kinda interesting. It said that mortgage interest rates could dip to around 3.86% by June 30th, 2026. Can you imagine? Under 4%! Then, by the end of 2026, they're predicting it'll creep up just a tad, to maybe 3.89%. So, not a huge jump, right?

And get this, they even went out on a limb and said by the end of 2027, we might be looking at rates around 4%. Now, whether that actually happens? That's a whole other ballgame! Things can change so quickly, especially with the economy these days. Remember back in, like, 2022 when rates were all over the place? Yikes! A friend of mine almost didn't get her house because the rates jumped so much between pre-approval and closing. Crazy times!
