Where is the dollar strongest right now?
Where is the US dollar strongest today?
Dollar's doing pretty well against the Polish złoty, South African rand, Vietnamese dong, Brazilian real, Egyptian pound, Argentine peso, Indonesian rupiah. Even holds its own against the euro.
Personally, I felt this in Poland last summer (July '24). Swapped dollars at a kantor in Krakow, got nearly 4 złoty per dollar. Felt kinda rich, honestly. Paid about 25 złoty for a huge plate of pierogi. Crazy cheap.
I remember being in Argentina in March 2024. Prices were all over the place due to inflation. I used my dollars, which was the only currency that worked. I had to bargain hard for everything but got some nice leather goods for very little money. The exchange rate was insane.
Then there's Vietnam. Went to Hanoi in November '23. Everything was priced in dong, thousands and thousands of it. But my dollar went a long way. Phở for like 50,000 dong. Less than $3. Felt a little surreal.
So, yeah, the dollar's power varies. These are just a few examples of where it's been strong recently. It constantly fluctuates, so checking current exchange rates is crucial.
What country is USD worth the most?
Lebanon, yeah, that's where the USD is king. Wow, eighty-nine thousand five hundred and fifty Lebanese pounds. A single dollar? Crazy.
- Remember that time in Beirut? Ugh, 2010. Wish I'd hoarded USD then. Should've, would've, could've.
Is it still Lebanon? Yep. Still Lebanon.
- Gotta check currency rates later... just in case. Never know when a quick trip might be needed. Heh.
Lebanese pound... it's really tanked, hasn't it?
- What's causing that, anyway? Economic crisis, political instability, duh. I knew that.
Dollars... powerful things.
- So, basically, if you have USD and visit Lebanon, you’re kinda rich? Relatively speaking, I mean.
Imagine buying everything so cheaply! But it probably sucks for the locals.
- Wait, is there anywhere else the USD is super strong? Gotta Google that later. Or maybe I should just ask that smart AI again.
Lebanon. Confirmed. Eighty-nine thousand five hundred fifty.
- Maybe I should exchange some CAD to USD. Then go to Lebanon. Then… no, that’s crazy. Too far. Expensive flights.
Still, though, Lebanon... USD. It's a thing.
