How much do A380 captains earn?

How much do A380 captains earn? I saw something the other day – wow, half a million Aussie dollars a year?! Seriously? That's insane! I mean, incredible. Just imagine, commanding that giant bird, the A380. It must feel...powerful, right? Like, you’re in charge of this massive metal airplane carrying hundreds of people across the world.

The sheer responsibility alone is mind-boggling. And don't even get me started on those long-haul flights. My uncle, he used to be a pilot for Qantas, not an A380 captain, but still... he always talked about how tiring those flights were. He'd come back jet-lagged, grumpy, and utterly exhausted. I bet those A380 guys are the same, only, you know, they get a half-million bucks for it! Makes those 16-hour flights to London seem... slightly less awful, I guess?

It makes you wonder, though, what kind of training and experience you need to get there? Years, I bet, probably decades. It's not just about flying, it's about all the leadership stuff, crisis management...I read somewhere that A380 captains have to deal with, like, a ton of different regulations and procedures, it's super complex. They've definitely earned every single penny, no doubt about that. Makes my little office job seem… well, a little less glamorous, at least!
