What is the highest paying grocery store?
Honestly, Im shocked Trader Joes is topping the list at $40,676! I always figured they paid less, given their quirky image. Safeway and Quality Food are respectable, but still significantly lower. It makes me wonder about the benefits and overall work environment at Trader Joes – is it the high pay, or something else, that draws employees in? This really changes my perception of grocery store jobs; its not all minimum wage and stressful shifts!
Whoa, hold up! Highest paying grocery store? Trader Joe’s?! $40,676 a year?! Seriously? I’m floored. Like, really floored. I always pictured them as, I don’t know, paying a bit less. You know, with the whole Hawaiian shirt thing and the… quirky vibe? Don’t get me wrong, I love Trader Joe’s, but high pay wasn’t something I associated with them. Safeway and Quality Food Centers (QFC) are decent, I guess, but nowhere near that, like closer to the low 30s from what I’ve heard. Makes you think, doesn’t it? What’s the deal? Is it just the money at Trader Joe’s, or is there something else going on? Maybe the atmosphere? My friend’s sister worked at a grocery store – not Trader Joe’s – and it was brutal. Long hours, rude customers, you name it. She was always stressed. So, this Trader Joe’s thing… it really makes you wonder. I mean, it kind of changes my whole idea of grocery store jobs. I always thought it was all minimum wage and crazy shifts. Clearly, I was wrong! Huh. Learn something new every day, I guess.
