Which US state has the highest wages?
Okay, so which US state pays the big bucks? It's so annoying! Washington D.C. totally crushes it, with something like almost $90,000 average wages, right? But it's not even a state, which is just rubbing salt in the wound, you know? Seriously, the injustice!
Massachusetts comes in second, I think it was around $64,000. That sounds pretty amazing, doesn't it? But then you remember how expensive everything is in Boston – my cousin nearly had a heart attack trying to buy a tiny apartment there! So, is that $64,000 actually that much better than, say, somewhere more affordable? I'm not so sure. It makes you wonder, doesn't it?
New York and Connecticut are up there too, but they're still way behind D.C.'s crazy high wages. I mean, it’s like, D.C. is in a whole other league. Remember that time my friend Sarah was offered a job in D.C. and practically fainted from shock at the salary? Yeah, that's the kind of money we're talking about! It makes you question your life choices, you know? Like, maybe I should have aimed for a career in politics or something... just kidding (mostly). But seriously, the wage gap is HUGE.
