What city pays the most for lawyers?

So, you're wondering which city's gonna make your bank account sing, right? Like, seriously, where can a lawyer actually live comfortably? I mean, law school is expensive enough! Well, from what I've been reading – and trust me, I've been doing some serious Googling, mostly while procrastinating on actual legal work, haha – San Jose is apparently the place to be. San Francisco's not too shabby either, closer to $239,330. I have a friend who almost moved there, she was all excited, then her boyfriend got a job offer in Boise and… well, let’s just say rent in San Francisco is a whole other beast. But still, that kind of money! California as a whole seems to be a legal goldmine, with an average salary way above the national average— something around $201,530. It makes me kinda jealous, I'm not gonna lie.

And then there's Washington D.C., which, yeah, always a strong contender. Lots of government work, lots of big firms. It's probably a different vibe than California, though. I've heard DC is intense, you know? High pressure, long hours... but a good salary can soften the blow, I guess?
