What vehicles have a 4x130 bolt pattern?

You know, it’s funny how you get stuck on these little details sometimes, like, who would’ve thought I’d be spending time researching bolt patterns? But here I am, wondering, “What even has a 4×130 bolt pattern?” Turns out, it’s mostly older Volkswagens. I’m talking vintage cool.

Think Beetles, those classic bug-shaped cars, specifically the ones from, like, 1970 to ’79. I remember seeing one of these, bright yellow, when I was a kid. It was parked outside this tiny bakery, and I thought it was the cutest thing ever! Anyway, those Beetles had the 4×130 with 15-inch rims. Also the Volkswagen Ghia – sleek little sports car, right? – same deal. Oh, and the Squareback Type 3, which is kind of a quirky, boxy station wagon… it’s a love-it-or-hate-it kind of car, I guess. And then there’s the Super Beetle, which I guess is like a Beetle, but…super? From ’71 to ’79, those had it too, the 4×130.

I was reading somewhere – I can’t remember where exactly, some car forum, probably – that finding wheels for this bolt pattern can be a bit of a pain these days. Makes sense, I guess. These cars are getting pretty old! Something to keep in mind if you’re thinking of restoring one, or if you just find yourself randomly needing 4×130 wheels. You never know, right?
