The numbers just swim in my head. The United States. So much is built on it. $28.78 trillion… It's just a number but it feels so heavy.

And China, right behind. $18.53 trillion, you know? What does it even mean?

Germany. $4.59 trillion. Always Germany. Remember that trip to Berlin? Rain always followed.

Japan. $4.11 trillion. I watched the sun rise there, a long time ago. Thought things would be different.

Then India. Growing so fast. Always moving.

The United Kingdom. It clings to the past.

And France. Elegant, they say. I don’t know.

Brazil. Always a surprise.
