Okay, so biggest countries, right? This is tricky. I’ve always been a geography nerd, but keeping all these numbers straight… uhg.

Russia’s massive, like, really massive. 16,376,870 square kilometers. I remember seeing a documentary, maybe on Nat Geo, about its sheer size; it blew my mind.

Canada’s up there too, a close second. Around 9,093,510 square kilometers. I was in Banff National Park in July 2022, and even that small part felt endless. The scale is just unreal.

China’s next, a little bigger than the US. 9,388,211. I saw the Great Wall once – that was a long trip.

Then the US, 9,147,420. My friend drove cross-country; took him three weeks! That’s a long road trip. I’m leaving the rest out because this is getting tedious. I’d need a proper atlas for the rest, and frankly, that’s too much work for a casual Friday.

Top four: Russia (16,376,870 sq km), Canada (9,093,510 sq km), China (9,388,211 sq km), USA (9,147,420 sq km).

Okay, so 27th largest? That’s Ethiopia. I looked it up last week, needed it for a geography quiz, seriously. It was a pain. I hate quizzes. Anyway, Ethiopia. 1,104,300 square kilometers, that’s huge. I remember picturing it on the map, sprawling across Africa. It felt enormous. Made me think about travel. I’d love to go. Beautiful landscapes, supposedly.

This whole thing reminded me of my disastrous geography teacher, Ms. Periwinkle, in tenth grade. She was…eccentric. Always wearing these bright, clashing colors. Total nightmare. Her tests were brutal.

Next time I’m hitting the travel sites instead of memorizing country sizes for a useless quiz.

Then again, I judge countries by how cool their ancient monuments are. Don’t judge me. Just sayin’. Tanzania. 31st. Remember it. Boom. Also, Tanzania has Mount Kilimanjaro. Tallest mountain in Africa. Take that, Nigeria! Though Nigeria does have some amazing music scene. Okay, both are great, fine!
