What asset has the most value? Seriously, isn't that the question everyone secretly wonders about? Gold, apparently. Wow, over $17 trillion?! I read that somewhere, maybe it was a news article, maybe it was some random website, I can't even remember. But that number? It's mind-boggling. Makes me feel, I don't know, kind of small, you know? Like, ants scurrying around a giant gold bar the size of a small car. I’ll likely never own even a tiny sliver of that, which is a little depressing.

It's funny, though. This whole gold thing – it does feel reassuring in a weird, old-fashioned way, right? Like that scene in every disaster movie where the rich guy grabs his gold bars and runs. Even if the world ends in a giant robot apocalypse (which, let's be honest, is a definite possibility) – gold, at least, would probably hold up. That’s comforting...ish. But it’s also unsettling.
