Can you function with 3 hours of sleep?
Three hours of sleep? Are you kidding me? No way. I tried that once, during finals week in college – total disaster. I felt like a zombie, honestly. Dragging myself to class, making absolutely zero sense in discussions, and then just crashing as soon as I got home. It wasn't just a "tired" feeling, it was debilitating. Like, my brain felt fuzzy, my concentration was shot...I even remember spilling coffee all over my favorite sweater. Not a good look.
And it's not just me, right? I mean, I read somewhere – I think it was the CDC or something – that not getting enough sleep, like less than seven hours a night, seriously messes you up. They were talking about weight gain – I totally get that, because when I'm sleep-deprived, I crave sugary stuff all day. Obesity, diabetes… those were on the list too. It's crazy, thinking about how something as simple as sleep can have such a huge impact on your overall health. Heart disease, stroke – they even mentioned those scary things. Depression too. I know plenty of people who get so run down from lack of sleep they just become utterly miserable.
Seven to nine hours, they recommend? Yeah, easier said than done sometimes, I know. But seriously, think about it – wouldn't you rather feel energetic and ready to take on the world, instead of constantly feeling like you’re running on fumes? I know I would.
