Okay, so like, what REALLY makes transport tick? I've thought about this, especially after that time my bus was 2 hours late… ugh.

The main bits? We're talking modes, like cars, trains, that sort of thing.

And infrastructure. Roads, stations. The stuff that LETS them go.

Then there are networks. How it's all connected. Mind-boggling, tbh. Like, which way do I go?!

And, finally, flows. How much stuff is moving, where's it going. The pulse of it. Makes sence, right?

  • Wind: Blows sand, dust, topsoil away. Terrible for farmers!
  • Ice: Glaciers are like slow-motion bulldozers. Super cool, but melting… bad.
  • Gravity: Landslides, rockfalls, mudflows. Scary stuff.

Road trip. That's one. Train. Amtrak. Rode that from Chicago to Seattle once. Slept terribly. Beautiful scenery though. Montana. Wow.

Then, uh. Boats. Took the ferry to Staten Island. Free. Saw the Statue of Liberty. Touristy, I know. Doesn't count, does it? Real boats, like cargo ships? Cruise ships? Whatever.

Planes. Obviously. Stuck on one now. Wish I were on a train. At least I could walk around. JFK. Kill me now.

  • Road: Cars, buses, trucks. My Corolla.
  • Rail: Amtrak. Subways. The T in Boston.
  • Water: Ferries. Cargo ships. My friend's sailboat.
  • Air: Planes. Hate them right now. This one especially.
