Do Australians use the letter Z?

Honestly, it bugs me when people assume Australians dont use z! Of course we do! We say zed, just like the Brits, because we inherited our spelling and pronunciation from them. Its a perfectly normal letter in our alphabet, used in words like pizza and zebra, and I get annoyed when people think otherwise – its a ridiculous stereotype!

Okay, so, do Australians actually use the letter Z? Seriously, I get asked this all the time, and honestly, it kinda gets under my skin! Like, do people really think we just skipped a whole letter in the alphabet down here?

Of course we use Z! It's not like it's banished or anything. We just... call it "zed." Yeah, like the Brits. It's a pronunciation thing, see? We got most of our spellings and pronunciations from the UK way back when, so "zed" stuck.

Think about it – we're not living in some weird Z-less alternate reality. We eat pizza, we go to the zoo to see zebras. I mean, come on! I even had a friend named Zachary once! (He mostly went by Zach, but still, the Z was there!). It’s a perfectly normal, functioning letter, doing its job just like all the others. So why do people think we don't use it? I guess it's just one of those weird stereotypes that sticks around. Honestly, it's a bit ridiculous, isn't it? It's like assuming all Americans only eat hamburgers. You know? Just… not true!
