How long is a Canadian school day?

Okay, so, how long is a Canadian school day? Well, it kind of depends, you know? Like, for elementary school kids, think somewhere between 8:30 in the morning till 3:00 or 3:30-ish in the afternoon. I remember my little niece, Sarah – she's in grade three now – she gets two 15-minute recesses (which, let's be honest, fly by in a blink!), and a glorious hour for lunch. A whole hour! I wish I had an hour lunch break. Anyway, high school is a slightly different story. Usually, it's 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Shorter, right? But then, of course, there's all the after-school stuff. Sports, clubs, drama... it all adds up. Remember when I was in high school? I was in the drama club, rehearsals went late all the time. It felt like my school day was never-ending!
