Chinas Contributions to World History?

Okay, so, China's contributions to world history, huh? It's kinda crazy how much we take for granted.

I mean, seriously, where would we be without some of this stuff? Agriculture, shipping... pretty vital to, you know, living. Then there's paper money – whoa, could you imagine lugging around gold bars everywhere? Thank you, China!

Okay, so here’s the gist, stuff China gave us: modern agriculture, shipping, astronomical observatories, decimal math, paper money, umbrellas, wheelbarrows, multi-stage rockets, brandy, whiskey, chess... plus papermaking, printing, gunpowder!

Speaking of chess... I remember my grandpa teaching me how to play when I was a kid in Penang. We'd sit on the porch, him sipping tea, me losing almost every game. He said, "This game is old, very old." I wish I knew then it came from China!

And then there’s brandy and whiskey. Funny thinking back when I was working in Edinburgh during August 2019, a single malt tour cost me about 15 pounds, and I definitely wasn't thinking, 'Thanks, China!'

It's easy to forget where things originate.
