What is a millionaire city?
So, what's a millionaire city, anyway? I mean, it sounds fancy, right? Like, somewhere super glamorous, maybe with gold-plated everything? Nope. Turns out it's actually pretty straightforward. It just means a city with over a million people living in it. A million! That's a whole lot of people, isn't it? Think about that – a million individual lives, all buzzing around in one place. Crazy.
It's different from a megacity, though. Those are the real behemoths, the ones with populations over ten million. I remember seeing a documentary once about Lagos – wow, that's a megacity if I ever saw one. Just the sheer scale of it was mind-blowing. I couldn’t even begin to imagine navigating that place.
And then there's this whole other thing about population density, which I guess gets thrown in sometimes. I read somewhere, it's often something like 2,000 people per square kilometer – which, I have to admit, kind of sounds packed, doesn't it? Imagine trying to find parking in that. I can barely cope with finding a space in my own little town! Anyway, it all makes sense in some official way, I guess, but the main thing to remember is that million-plus residents is what really matters. That's what makes a city a "millionaire city," and that’s pretty cool in itself, really.
