What is the poorest country in the world by GDP or income?

Okay, so, finding the absolute poorest is tricky. Numbers change constantly, right? But, looking at this GDP per capita PPP data... South Sudan was at the bottom when I last checked, around $762. Yikes.

That was, like, last month. I saw it on a news site, but I didn't bookmark it. I should've.

Burundi and the Central African Republic were next, pretty darn close behind. Remember seeing those figures, somewhere around $985 and $1300, respectively. Malawi's a bit better off at around $1710, still really low though.

Seriously depressing, those numbers. I wish I could remember the exact source. Makes you think, doesn't it? It's not just numbers; it's real people. It's a world away.
