Why are shoes not allowed in the house? Ugh, seriously, sometimes I just want to stomp right in! It's such a pain, kicking off my boots after a long day, especially when I'm already exhausted. But then I remember... well, it's kinda gross, isn't it? I mean, think about it – all the stuff we walk through. Dog poop, that mysterious sticky goo I stepped in last week, who knows what else?

That study by Dr. Reynolds really got to me, you know? Apparently, shoes carry way more bacteria than our hands. Way more! I mean, I wash my hands constantly, but I'm not exactly scrubbing my shoes down after every trip to the grocery store. Yuck. Just thinking about it makes me want to disinfect everything.

So yeah, maybe it is a small price to pay. My niece, Lily, used to track in mud like a little piglet. Her mom’s house? Always a mud pit, even with a rug. It was awful. Now that I have my own place, I'm determined to keep it clean, germ-free, and honestly, just a little bit more peaceful. So, shoes off. It's the rule. Even if it is a hassle sometimes.
