Can you change the field on a Free Hit?

Can you believe they won't let you change the field on a free hit? Seriously? I mean, it's the same batter, right? Why the heck not? It's infuriating! It felt totally rigged when it happened to my team last week. We had this amazing strategy, a perfectly placed slip, ready to gobble up anything short – and poof! Gone. Because of a free hit. The guy just smashed it straight to where the slip used to be. I still feel the sting, honestly.

I get the whole safety thing for the keeper, yeah, absolutely. Keeping the keeper safe is number one. That makes perfect sense. But the rest? It feels like such a huge advantage for the batting side, you know? Like, they get a freebie and the field is set up perfectly for them to whack it. Doesn't seem right. It's not like they're cheating, per se, but it's just... unfair. The fielding team deserves a fighting chance to adapt their field setting. It's basic strategy, isn't it? Common sense even! I mean, wouldn't you want to shuffle your fielders if you knew where the batter usually hits the ball? I sure would.
