Did Elon Musk give up on hyperloop?
Did Elon Musk give up on hyperloop? Nah, I don't really think so. I mean, he hasn't said he's given up, has he? Sure, they took down that test tunnel thing, which felt kinda symbolic, you know? Like, "poof, there goes the dream." But he's also been like, "Hey, other people, go for it!" which is…interesting. Isn’t it? Almost like he's passing the torch, maybe?
The Boring Company—another one of his, uh, things—still has Hyperloop listed on their website as a future project. I checked, like, just the other day! So, it's still there...lurking. Makes you wonder. I remember reading somewhere that the test track land was needed for something else, some parking lot or something mundane like that. It makes sense, right? Land in California is crazy expensive. Who can afford to just have a test tunnel lying around? It’s probably more a practical thing than him totally ditching the whole Hyperloop idea. Kind of like when you clean out your closet and get rid of that cool jacket you never actually wear. Doesn’t mean you don’t like it anymore, just…practicalities, you know? Still, a little part of me wonders if he's secretly moved on to other shiny new toys. He's got his hands full with Twitter (now X, which…don't even get me started!) and Tesla and SpaceX and who knows what else. Maybe Hyperloop just got…boring? (Pun unintended, I swear!)
