In a groundbreaking move, Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (Metro) is set to introduce self-driving technology across its rail network. Beginning in December, the Red Line will be the first to transition to automated train operation (ATO), marking a pivotal step towards enhanced system efficiency and automation.
