Modern transportation methods: What are the options today?

Okay, so transportation, huh? Thinking about it, it's crazy how many options there actually are. I mean, obvious stuff like planes (flew from JFK to London Heathrow last October, cost a fortune!), boats (remember that ferry to Catalina Island in July? $40 roundtrip!), and cars (my beat-up Honda Civic – she's a trooper!).

Then there's trains – the Amtrak from Chicago to Milwaukee was surprisingly comfy, about $60. And buses, don't forget those – cheap but… well, you know. Plus, all that trucking stuff, getting goods around.

Beyond the usual, it's wild to think about pipelines, carrying oil and gas across the country. Cable cars, too – fun in San Francisco, but not exactly my daily commute. Space travel? Well, that's… a whole different level, beyond my budget!

Basically, air, water, and land (road, rail, off-road) are the biggies. But pipelines, cables, and even space travel exist. It's mind-blowing actually.
