What are the risks in Uber?

Honestly, using Uber freaks me out sometimes. The thought of getting into a car with a stranger is unsettling, and you hear so many horror stories – theft, assault, even worse. Pool rides? Forget it! While Uber claims to prioritize safety, I worry constantly about the lack of real-time accountability. Its a gamble, and it makes me angry that the onus of my safety feels so heavily on me, not the company.

What are the risks with Uber? Ugh, right? It’s a whole thing, isn’t it? Honestly, sometimes the thought of hopping in a car with a complete stranger just… freaks me out. I mean, you hear the stories, right? The creepy stuff. The thefts. The assaults. One time, a friend of mine – Sarah, super sweet girl – took an Uber pool and the guy driving was, well, let’s just say he made her incredibly uncomfortable. He kept making weird comments and wouldn’t stop staring at her in the mirror. She was practically glued to her phone the whole ride, pretending to be busy. Scary, right? Pool rides? Hard pass for me. I stick to the individual rides, even though they cost more.

And it’s not just that. Even with a regular Uber, it’s the lack of, like, real oversight. Uber says they care about safety, they really do, but it feels… flimsy, you know? Like a thin layer of paint on a rusty car. What if something goes wrong? Who’s actually watching? There’s that whole thing about the driver ratings, but is that really enough? I mean, someone could be perfectly pleasant for a hundred rides and then… snap. It’s a gamble, a total gamble, and it makes me so mad that I, the passenger, feel so utterly responsible for my own safety. Shouldn’t the company, the multi-billion dollar corporation, be doing more? It’s just not right, is it? They should be pulling more weight, instead of letting us all feel like we’re constantly walking on eggshells.
