What brand of night vision does the military use?
The U.S. military primarily uses the PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular. This monocular is also favored by many NATO forces. Mass-produced and highly reliable, the PVS-14 is expected to remain a mainstay for years to come.
You know, I’ve always been fascinated by night vision. Like, how cool is it to see in the dark?! And I’ve always wondered what kind the military uses. Turns out, it’s mostly the PVS-14 Night Vision Monocular. I guess it makes sense. I mean, it’s used by a bunch of NATO countries too, so it must be pretty good, right? It’s like, the gold standard or something. They churn these things out, apparently. Reliable little workhorses, they are. I read somewhere – can’t remember exactly where, maybe it was a military forum or something – that the PVS-14 is gonna be around for a good long while. Kinda like those old reliable Nokia phones, you know? The ones you could drop from a building and they’d still work. Probably not quite that extreme with the PVS-14, but you get the idea. They’re built to last, I guess. Makes sense, since, you know… lives depend on them and all. Pretty serious business.
