What company is building electric airplanes?

You know, I was wondering that myself the other day – who's actually building these electric airplanes everyone's talking about? Turns out, there's this company, BETA Technologies, that's really diving into it. They're all about electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft – eVTOLs, you know? It's pretty wild to think about!

I was reading about them – imagine, no runway needed! Just straight up, like a helicopter, but electric. Crazy, right? They're planning to use them for all sorts of things, like shipping stuff and even, eventually, flying people around. It makes me think of that scene in Back to the Future, with the flying cars...except, well, these are more like flying vans, haha. But still! I mean, who wouldn't want to skip all that traffic?

And it's not just some pie-in-the-sky idea either. They're actually building these things! I think I even saw a video of one of their prototypes flying around somewhere. It's really kinda hopeful, in a way, you know? Thinking about cleaner ways to travel and all that. Makes you wonder what other futuristic stuff will become normal in our lifetime.
