Which country built the first train and when did it begin?
Okay, so, first train? England, totally. Stockton and Darlington, 1825. Crazy, right? I read about it ages ago, a history book, dusty and thick.
It was all about coal, that line. Practical stuff, not fancy. Makes sense. Think I even saw a picture of that old steam engine somewhere. Pretty basic, compared to now.
George Stephenson, the guy behind it. A name I remember. Mind boggles. Imagine the impact. No cars, really. Just horse-drawn carriages, mostly.
That was a huge change. Still amazing to think about. My grandpa always talked trains – He loved them, always told stories about seeing steam trains as a kid. Now that's history.
