What is the most common type of wireless network?
Okay, so you're wondering what kind of wireless network is practically everywhere, right? Like, the one you probably use every day?
Well, it's gotta be Wi-Fi, isn't it? I mean, seriously, think about it – you're probably connected to it right now! I was just at the coffee shop down the street, you know, the one with the comfy armchairs? Even they have Wi-Fi; otherwise, how would I have been able to post that picture of my ridiculously fluffy cat, Mittens, on Instagram? (She's a star, honestly.)
While there are other kinds of wireless networks – I’ve read about some super technical stuff, things like Bluetooth and some other standards I can't even pronounce – Wi-Fi is king. It's based on something called 802.11, which sounds complicated, but basically it means it's the standard for connecting most of our devices wirelessly. Think laptops, phones, tablets... even some smart refrigerators, if I remember correctly! My mom's always complaining about hers being slow, haha.
So yeah, Wi-Fi. It's everywhere. Home, work, Starbucks... I'd wager most public spaces these days wouldn't be remotely functional without it. It’s just become...essential, hasn't it?
