George Stephensons First Train: What Was It?
Okay, so lemme tell you what I think I know about George Stephenson's first train. It's a bit foggy, y'know? Like that time I tried to bake a cake and forgot the sugar. disaster.
It was this thing called the Blucher. Built back in 1814, at Killingworth Colliery. That's near Newcastle upon Tyne. Never been.
I think he was trying to make mining easier. Seemed important at that time. Imagine hauling all that coal by hand? Terrible.
The Blucher. 1814. First steam locomotive. Killingworth Colliery, near Newcastle upon Tyne.
Then, like a year later - February 1815? - he got a patent. For, like, improvements to the steam engine.
Steam doing more stuff! And I am pretty certain it was 'cause the steam was being, like, recycled. It was a clever idea, or so I heard.
He patented a better steam engine in February 1815. Improved exhaust steam. All about adhesion, apprently. So fancy.
