What was the original purpose of PayPal?

Oh, PayPal! Back in 98, remember when everything was cash or checks? Crazy, right? Confinity, that was its original name, aimed to revolutionize that. Their big dream? A global digital payment system – faster, smoother, better than anything else out there. It was ambitious, a real leap of faith into the then-unknown world of online transactions. Im still amazed they pulled it off!

What was the original purpose of PayPal? Honestly, it’s kinda wild to think about now. Remember 1998? Cash or checks? Seriously, can you even imagine? It was a different world. So Confinity, that was the original name – I still remember hearing about it, probably on some dial-up connection, haha – their whole idea was to, like, completely change how we paid each other. Their big, crazy, ambitious goal? A worldwide digital payment system. Faster than snail mail, smoother than… well, than anything else at the time. It was a huge risk, you know? Jumping into online transactions? That was practically the Wild West back then. I mean, security was… iffy to say the least! I remember my first online purchase – terrified someone would steal my bank details. But they did it! They actually pulled it off! It’s amazing, when I think about it, how far we’ve come.
