Which is safer, direct debit or credit card?
Direct debit vs. credit card: which is safer?
Okay, so Direct Debit versus credit card safety, huh? This is tricky. I used to think credit cards were safer, because of that chip and all the fraud alerts.
But then, last month, 22nd July, I nearly got scammed via a phishing email targeting my credit card. Seriously scary.
Direct Debit, on the other hand? My gym uses it, and never had a problem. Feels more secure somehow, less exposed.
Bank details rarely change, unlike credit card numbers, which you can loose or get compromised more easily. That's a big plus for Direct Debit.
My brother got his credit card details stolen last year, cost him almost £500. Ugh. Direct Debit seems safer to me, for sure. More secure.
Direct Debit generally offers stronger security and consumer protection than credit cards. Bank details are stable and less prone to change or theft.
