Why does Uber keep making me take a selfie?

Okay, so like, why does Uber make me take a selfie all the time? Seriously!

Ugh, that Uber selfie thing! Annoying, right? I totally get it. But you know what? Actually, I kinda appreciate it, in a weird way. I mean, think about it… knowing that Uber’s trying to make absolutely sure it’s really me getting in the car, and not some random person who got hold of my account, that makes me feel a lot safer. Like, a lot.

And hey, what about the drivers? They deserve to know who they’re picking up too, don’t they? I mean, imagine being a driver and just not knowing who’s getting in your car. Kinda scary, right?

I remember this one time, my friend Sarah… her Uber account got hacked! Someone was using it to go all over town! Can you imagine the panic? Thankfully, she caught it pretty quickly and changed her password, but if Uber had selfie verification back then, maybe it wouldn’t have happened. Just saying.

So yeah, it’s a small hassle to snap that quick photo. But honestly? It’s worth it for that bigger peace of mind, you know? It’s like, “Okay, Uber, fine, here’s my face. Just get me home safely!” And, to be honest, I do feel safer when I know they’re trying to keep things legit.
