Why does Uber keep making me take a selfie?

Okay, so like, why does Uber make me take a selfie all the time? Seriously!

And hey, what about the drivers? They deserve to know who they're picking up too, don't they? I mean, imagine being a driver and just not knowing who's getting in your car. Kinda scary, right?

I remember this one time, my friend Sarah... her Uber account got hacked! Someone was using it to go all over town! Can you imagine the panic? Thankfully, she caught it pretty quickly and changed her password, but if Uber had selfie verification back then, maybe it wouldn't have happened. Just saying.
