Can a check be drawn from a savings account?

Can you believe it? I actually tried to write a check from my savings account the other day! Silly, right? I mean, I know I shouldn't have, but sometimes my brain just...doesn't fully connect with what I'm doing. Anyway, it didn't work. Turns out, you generally can't. Go figure.

It makes sense, though, when you think about it, doesn't it? Savings accounts are, like, for saving. For building that little nest egg, you know? Not for, uh, paying for groceries every week. That's what checking accounts are for! I remember my grandpa used to tell me stories about how he'd save up his extra cash in his savings account – it was a big deal, something to be cherished.

So, lesson learned! Stick to checking accounts for writing checks. And maybe I need more coffee.
