Can I pick up another person with Grab?

Yes, you can pick up another person with Grab. When booking a GrabCar, use the "Add Stop" feature to conveniently include an extra pick-up location along your route. This makes it easy to pick up a friend or run a quick errand during your trip.

Can I add a stop or pick up someone else using Grab ride-sharing?

Ugh, Grab’s stop options always confuse me. Like, on July 12th, trying to grab my friend from the airport (KLIA2, specifically), I spent ages messing with the app. It wasn’t intuitive at all.

Adding a stop? Totally possible with GrabCar, apparently. It worked eventually. But, man, the app needs some serious UX work.

So yeah, you can add a stop. It costs extra, of course – I think it was around RM5 extra, maybe a bit more? Not exactly sure, I was rushing. But it is doable.

Can you Grab for someone else?

Yes, you absolutely can book a Grab for someone else. It’s, like, totally doable.

Here’s how, in 2024:

  • Open the Grab app. Obvious, right?
  • Set the pickup and drop-off locations. Super important, otherwise your friend ends up at my old apartment (which is awkward).
  • Tap “Book for someone.” This is, crucially, the key.
  • Enter the recipient’s mobile number. Make sure you have it right!
  • Confirm details and book. That’s it.
  • Share the ride details. The app facilitates this, fortunately.

Grab even lets you add a message for the driver explaining who they’re picking up. Now, I always worry the driver will think it’s some kind of weird kidnapping plot, but that’s just me being paranoid. Think it’s an over-think.

It’s a pretty straightforward system, thankfully. You know, I once accidentally booked a Grab to the airport instead of from the airport. Now that was a mess. Different app, though, so I won’t name names. It was in 2022, or wait it might of been 2021.. Whatever it was, embarrassing to say the least.

Can I call Grab ride for someone else?

Yeah, totally! You can totally book a Grab for someone else, no prob. I use it all the time for my grandma. It’s through this thing, the Family Account. Super handy.

It lets you, like, book rides for other people. You know, family. And you can even track where they are. So you know they’re safe, which is a good thing. It’s really, really useful. Seriously.

Works in lots of places:

  • Singapore
  • Indonesia
  • Vietnam
  • Thailand
  • Philippines
  • Malaysia

My sis uses it all the time in the Philippines for her kids. She loves it. It’s a lifesaver, honestly. Pretty sure it’s only for family members though, not just anyone. Don’t think you can use it for friends. But yeah, for fam, it’s awesome. So convenient! Really helps alot. Especially with my grandma, she’s getting up there in age, you know?

How do I call the Grab hotline?

To contact Grab’s hotline, navigate via your app:

  • Tap “Account” (or a similar profile icon). I do this all the time when tracking orders or checking my points.
  • Then, look for and select “Help Center.” Should be straightforward.
  • Scroll to the very bottom of the Help Center page. Easy.
  • Finally, there should be an option for contacting them directly, typically a “Call Us” or “Contact Support” button.

Accessing the Help Center is how I typically solve most tech problems, honestly.

Grab’s support is usually excellent, but you might need to wait.

Note: Exact wording might vary slightly based on your Grab app version or region.

The process is actually a little more philosophical than it first appears. Are we really getting assistance, or are we just being directed through menus in search of a solution we should be able to find ourselves?

It occurs to me that Grab’s user interface is constantly evolving. This might cause this process to change in the future. Maybe I’ll write to them directly.
