Can I regain access to an old phone number?

Ugh, losing my old phone number is SO frustrating! Can I even get it back? It's like losing a piece of my past, you know? I had that number for, like, seven years – through college, my first awful apartment, and even that disastrous blind date with Mark who only talked about cryptocurrency. So many memories tied to it!

I'm planning to call my provider first thing tomorrow. It's gonna be a pain, though, right? They're probably going to ask a million questions. I'm already dreading having to prove it's actually my number. What if they ask for some obscure detail I've totally forgotten? Like, my grandmother's maiden name? I'd be screwed. Seriously, I barely remember my own address sometimes!

I really need that number back. It's linked to, like, everything – my bank accounts, some important online accounts... I shudder to think about what a mess this could be.
