Can I unmask my private number?
Ugh, I hate getting calls from private numbers. It's so unsettling, isn't it? Like, who is this mysterious person? Are they selling something? Or worse?
Anyway, I think I figured out a way to find out who's been calling. I read somewhere – maybe it was a random website, I can't even remember – that you can dial *69 after a private number calls. Supposedly, that dials the number back. It'll reveal their number, even if they blocked their caller ID. Crazy, right?
I tried it once – some guy called, completely anonymous – and honestly, I was kind of scared to hit *69. Felt like something out of a movie! But I did it, and... it worked! It actually called the guy back. It wasn't a serial killer or anything, thankfully. Just some guy from a debt collection agency, which, while annoying, was way less scary than I'd imagined.
So yeah, give 69 a shot if you're curious. But be warned – there's always a chance you'll get a creepy voicemail or something. Maybe it's better to just let some calls go to voicemail. I mean, is knowing that* important? Sometimes I wonder. ????♀️
