Can Others See My Apple ID Name?

Your Apple ID is the primary account you use to access Apple services such as the App Store, iCloud, and Apple Music. It consists of two components: your username (typically an email address) and your name.

Visibility of Your Name

By default, your Apple ID name (first and last name) is visible to anyone who finds your account. This includes your contacts, people who share photos or documents with you, and even strangers who may stumble upon your profile via third-party apps.

Controlling Visibility

To manage the visibility of your name, follow these steps:

1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
2. Tap or click your Apple ID at the top of the screen.
3. Go to the Name, Phone Numbers, and Email section.
4. Under Reachable At, you can choose to use your phone number instead of your email address as your primary contact method.
5. Tap or click Edit next to your Name field.
