Can you take Emirates blanket home?

Snuggling Up in the Sky: The Truth About Emirates Blankets

That plush Emirates blanket draped over you during a long-haul flight certainly adds to the comfort of your journey. It might even tempt you to sneak it into your carry-on for a little piece of luxury at home. But before you're tempted to tuck that cozy blanket away, let's clear the air: Can you take an Emirates blanket home?

The short answer is no. While Emirates offers certain complimentary amenities you can keep, like amenity kits and, in some premium cabins, pajamas, the blankets are strictly airline property. Unlike those take-home goodies, these blankets are part of Emirates' ongoing commitment to hygiene and sustainability.

After each flight, the blankets are meticulously collected, professionally laundered, and then reintroduced back into circulation for the next set of passengers. This closed-loop system not only ensures a fresh and clean experience for everyone but also significantly reduces waste and the airline's environmental footprint. Imagine the mountains of textile waste that would be generated if every passenger kept their blanket!

This policy applies across all cabin classes, including First Class and Business Class. Even if you’re enjoying the premium experience of a lie-flat seat and a gourmet meal, the blanket remains part of the onboard service, not a souvenir.

So, while the temptation to recreate that in-flight comfort at home is understandable, it's best to leave the Emirates blanket where it belongs. Appreciate its warmth and comfort during your flight, and then allow it to continue its journey, providing the same cozy experience for countless other travelers. Instead of taking the blanket, consider taking home the memories of your journey and the excellent service Emirates provides. And who knows, maybe investing in a similarly luxurious blanket for your own home will be the perfect reminder of your travels.
