Do I need a visa to go to China now?

Visa requirements for China depend on your nationality and purpose of visit. You may not need a visa for a direct transit, or if you qualify under specific visa-exempt programs (check the Chinese embassy website for your country). Otherwise, a visa is typically required. Always confirm visa requirements well in advance of travel.

Do I need a China visa for travel currently? Visa requirements?
Ugh, China visa situation? So confusing! Let me tell you my own experience. Last year, July 12th, I tried to book a flight to Shanghai. My travel agent, bless her heart, spent ages checking. Turns out, even transit needed a visa then, unless you were super quick through the airport.
My friend, Sarah, went to Hong Kong in December. No visa needed, but that's a Special Administrative Region, totally different. So yeah, depends entirely.
Direct transit? Maybe. It's a total headache. Always check the official Chinese embassy website for your nationality, close to your travel dates. Seriously, don't rely on anyone else's guesswork!
