Does a WiFi router store search history?

Okay, so does my WiFi router actually keep tabs on me? That's the question, right? Well, the short answer is...sort of.

It's a relief to know that my router doesn't keep a minute-by-minute log of every single thing I do online. I mean, imagine that! Like a detailed diary of my late-night YouTube binges or frantic online shopping sprees. Phew!

But... (there's always a but, isn't there?) it does log some stuff. Things like the websites I visit – just the names, not, thankfully, the exact pages I'm looking at. And it notes who's trying to connect to my WiFi and their IP addresses.

Honestly, that gives me the heebie-jeebies a little bit. It's like, are you watching me, router? I remember this one time my internet was acting up, and the technician mentioned something about checking the router logs. It made me wonder exactly what kind of info was in there!

Privacy is a big deal to me, you know? I mean, isn't it for everyone? It's kind of unsettling to think that this little box in the corner has a record – even if it's a basic one – of what I've been doing online.

So, yeah, I'm definitely going to look into how to clear that data. Maybe I'll even change my router settings to be more private. Gotta take control of my digital footprint, right? It's not paranoia, it's just... being smart. And maybe a little bit paranoid. ????
