Does walking tighten belly skin?
Does walking tighten belly skin? Ugh, I wish! I really, really wish. Remember that time I lost twenty pounds after I finally started walking to work instead of driving? Felt amazing, so much more energy. But that darn loose skin? Still there. Hanging around like a bad memory. It's so frustrating!
Walking is great, don't get me wrong. I feel so much better, physically and mentally, since I started. It’s helped me tone up a bit, yeah, definitely noticed my abs are a little more defined... but that skin? Nope. It's just… there. Like a deflated balloon. You know?
So, does walking help? Indirectly, maybe. Losing weight helps, obviously, because less weight means less stretched skin. But the skin itself? It doesn't magically tighten. I read somewhere – I think it was some health blog, not a proper scientific study, so take it with a grain of salt – that your skin's elasticity has a lot to do with genetics and age. Which, honestly, is just depressing.
So, what to do? I've considered those firming creams. Seen all the ads. Probably mostly snake oil, right? Then there's… surgery. The thought makes me want to crawl under a rock. Seriously, the idea of going under the knife for something so... superficial? Ugh. I don't know. I’m still weighing my options, you know? Maybe more walks, a better diet...and just accepting that maybe my body will never quite be the same. Which, honestly, is a hard pill to swallow.
