How do I add checked bags to booking com?

Adding Checked Bags to Your Booking: It's Not Booking.com!

The prompt asks how to add checked bags to a Booking.com booking. This is a common misconception. Booking.com is a hotel booking website, not an airline booking site. You cannot add checked bags to a Booking.com reservation because Booking.com doesn't manage your flights. It only manages your hotel accommodations.

If you need to add checked bags, you must contact the airline directly where you booked your flight. The process varies depending on the airline.

Here's how you typically add checked bags:

• Check your airline's website: Most airlines allow you to manage your booking online. Look for a section on "Manage My Booking," "My Trips," or similar. After logging in with your booking reference number and last name, you should find an option to add baggage. This usually involves selecting the number of bags and paying the associated fee.

• Use the airline's mobile app: Many airlines have mobile apps that allow you to manage your booking, including adding baggage, just as easily as their website.

• Contact the airline directly: If you're having trouble managing your booking online, call the airline's customer service number. Their representatives can assist you in adding checked bags to your reservation. Be prepared to provide your booking reference number and other relevant information.

• At the airport check-in counter: While it's generally more expensive, you can usually add checked bags at the airport check-in counter. However, this is less convenient and might involve longer wait times. It's always best to add bags beforehand to avoid potential issues.

In short, you cannot add checked bags through Booking.com. Focus your efforts on the airline's website, app, or customer service line. Remember to check your airline's baggage allowance policy before your trip to avoid unexpected costs. The information provided on your flight booking confirmation should clearly state the baggage allowance included in your ticket price.
