How do I contact Uber about an incorrect charge?
To dispute an Uber charge:
- Select the trip in your app.
- Go to Help.
- Choose the relevant issue category.
- Submit feedback to support.
Ugh, incorrect Uber charges – the WORST! I had this happen once, a double charge for a ride I swear only took one payment. It was so frustrating! Seriously, who has time for this nonsense? Anyway, here’s how I eventually sorted it out. I’m pretty sure you can do it too.
First, find the trip in your Uber app. You know, the one that’s making you want to scream into a pillow. That one. Tap on it.
Then, look for a “Help” section. It’s usually pretty obvious, but sometimes these apps are like a maze! Remember that time I spent ten minutes looking for the settings on that weird food delivery app? Yeah, don’t let that happen again.
Next, they usually have categories of issues – “Billing,” “Incorrect Fare,” something like that. Pick the one that best fits your situation. Hopefully it’s obvious, like it was for me when I selected “Billing error,” not, you know, “My driver was singing off-key”. Although, maybe I should’ve done that, too… just kidding (mostly!).
Finally, submit your feedback. They usually have a little form or something, where you can explain what happened. Be clear, but don’t stress about being perfectly formal – they’re humans on the other end, I think. I just wrote something like, “Hey, looks like I got charged twice for this ride. Can you fix it? Thanks!” and it worked. It might take a day or two, maybe even a little longer, but they usually get back to you and sort it out.
So yeah, that’s it. Much easier than I thought it would be, once I actually did it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go have a nice, calm cup of tea – after successfully getting my refund, of course!
